Be Free Through Knowledge and Taking Action

Many people like to pontificate on what it means to live a more conscious and spiritually connected life. They claim to know the secret of how one can live an authentic life that has more depth and is much less shallow. Some will say that being on the right path is all about learning as you go and gaining as much knowledge along the way. Others will say that being on the right path is more about taking the right action. One believes it’s what you know. The other believes it’s the actions you take. Who is right?

The reality is that it is neither knowledge nor action alone that can put the person on a path to living a more authentic life. The person who has read a ton of books can end up sitting around daydreaming all day never making a move toward having the life they see in those dreams. Action will have to be taken if those dreams are ever to become a reality. On the flip side, a person can run around involved in a whole lot of unproductive activity while lacking any real strategy or direction. This person would do well to have a little bit more insight on which moves are the best ones to make. This proves that knowledge and action work hand in hand.

If a person is to truly develop in wisdom, they must live and learn in the moment. This requires being open to receiving the new lessons that come to teach and inspire in every day. Life will challenge a person; it will stretch them and propel them toward their own transformation. He or she will be pushed forward by the words of those more wise than them along with passages pulled from books that have been read. In the end, to truly gain wisdom, one must be able to properly dispense with what they know and take the appropriate actions.

This is an example of how impossible it is to compartmentalized the human experience based solely on the piece of the puzzle one person has been exposed to. One must remember, for every yin there is a corresponding yang. The goal should ultimately be in finding balance, which is really just a meeting place in the middle which says, “We both bring something valuable to the table.”

So knowledge and action belong together. Separately they can never be as great as they are together. And a person must be present in their life experience and be prepared to use their knowledge to make the wisest decisions regarding which actions are the best actions to take in order to truly be transformed.

To Your Success!
